Reverse Osmosis System
OUR REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM
FILTERS THE MOST CONTAMINANTS
OF ANY OF OUR SYSTEMS.
The Multipure AquaRO filter system reduces the most contaminants of any of our filter systems, but is also the most expensive to maintain and a professional plumber is recommended for its installation.
It has 3 types of filters, some which are changed every 6 months, one that is changed once per year (the Aquaversa) and one - the RO membrane - which is changed every 2-3 years. While this system is a little more expensive to buy, install, and maintain, it is the Ultimate in contaminant reduction.
What makes the Multipure the best Reverse Osmosis filter system money can buy is the addition of our "Best Buy" award winning Aquaversa, and the availability of a Zero Waste Kit to minimize the wasted water that many other RO systems cause.
Our AquaRO is a Reverse Osmosis filter system with multi-stage filtration. It features an RO membrane, three (3) pre-filters, and also our award winning Aquaversa carbon block filter.
The Aquaversa reduces over 65 contaminants but the Aqua RO reverse osmosis system also reduces other contaminants that cannot be reduced by any carbon block filter system, such as fluoride, hexavalent and trivalent chromium, radium, cadmium, giardia and so on. (See the full list of contaminants reduced here.)
Our Multipure AquaRO reduces the most contaminants of health concern than any of our other filter systems.
These other contaminants reduced by the AquaRO but not by our other systems include:
fluoride
hexavalent and trivalent chromium (the subject of the famous Erin Brokavich
city water law suit)
radium
barium
cadmium
nitrate
nitrite
copper
lead
selenium
cysts (giardia, cryptosporidium, entamoeba, toxoplasm)
arsenic
and others that carbon block filters do not reduce.
(See the full list of contaminants our AquaRO is NSF Certified to reduce, here.)
In short, our reverse osmosis membrane, pre-filters and our Aquaversa post filter reduces the widest range of protection from contaminants that your money can buy.
The one drawback of this and all reverse osmosis systems is that it also reduces healthy minerals. This is a trade off for having the cleanest, contaminant free filtered water you can get.
This model includes a special 3-tube air gap faucet that requires a 0.5” hole in the counter top or sink for installation. Because it connects to both the water source and the drain, we recommend the use of a professional plumber to install the AquaRO.
The AquaRO requires 3 – 5 gallons of water in order to produce 1 gallon of filtered water.
A Zero Waste Kit can be added to recover the water wasted by the reverse osmosis process, minimizing overall water usage.
Additionally, a Booster Pump can be added to increase the water pressure though this is not always needed. Due to its multi-stage filtration, the AquaRO requires a larger area below the sink for installation.
